Motorcycle charity run benefits Ecker Center
On Sunday, Aug. 30, a motorcycle charity run to benefit the Ecker Center for Mental Health will be at 9 a.m. All motorcyclists and riders are invited to participate in a ride along a designated route beginning at the Baird and Warner offices, 2255 Randall Road, Carpentersville.
The motorcyclists will travel to designated stops where they will receive a participant stamp in Elgin, Sycamore, Byron and Garden Prairie. Participants will finish in East Dundee at Bandito Barneys at approximately 4 p.m., where each motorcyclist will pull a poker band and have the opportunity to win a cash award ($150 highest hand, second $75, and third $50).
Drivers and riders who were registered will also have the opportunity to win raffle prizes, which include custom motorcycle goggles, restaurant and other gift certificates, music CDs and other prizes. A 50/50 raffle will also be held.
Registration is $20 for driver, $10 for rider and $15 for non-riding participants. All funds collected will benefit the Ecker Center for Mental Health, which was founded in 1955 and provides an array of outpatient and inpatient mental health services to adults with mental illness and their families.
Office locations are in Elgin, St. Charles and Streamwood. For details on the Ecker Center, call (847) 695-0484.
Since its inception in 2002, Baird and Warner Goodwill Network members, which consist of Realtors and company employees, have raised and donated more than $1.2 million to local charities in the Chicago area.
