Naperville man gets probation for contact with minor

A Naperville man who had inappropriate sexual relations with an underage girl he met on the Internet received probation Tuesday in a plea deal.

Oscar R. Flores, 38, also was ordered not to have contact with the girl after he admitted contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a misdemeanor.

Police began investigating the self-professed male model last winter when authorities in Hartford, Wis. alerted them that a missing teen may be staying with a Naperville man whom she met on MySpace, a popular online social networking site.

Flores and the girl already were on their way back to Wisconsin when police went to his home on the 1000 block of Royal St. George to investigate.

He was arrested on a March 23 warrant for causing the teen to miss 10 days of school while she was with him in Naperville. Flores also was accused of impersonating a government official/employee in falsely telling the girl during an Oct. 2 online chat that he was a federal social worker. Prosecutors agreed to drop the latter charge as part of the plea.

The girl, now 16, did not cooperate with prosecutors. She also lied to Flores about her age when they met.

But during an earlier court hearing, a detective testified Flores again brought the girl back to his home April 10 even though he had known since at least Nov. 2 that she was underage. He said Flores bought the girl expensive Victoria's Secret lingerie and his computer contained nude photos of her that appeared to have been taken in his bedroom.

Flores did not have a prior criminal history.
