It's all about government control

This great country has more than 270 million people covered by health insurance, and 10 million to 12 million are uninsured, (after you take out the illegals, young people opting out of paying for it, the wealthy elderly who opt out of paying for it), not the 47 million you keep hearing about. Of these 270 million, more than 80 percent are satisfied with their current premiums and coverage.

So why is the Obama administration trying to overhaul the entire system instead of creating actual reform programs to address the American citizens that are not satisfied or insured? Answer: Government takeover and control.

An Aug. 5 letter from Greg Newlin espoused the idea that health care will never change because the insurance and pharmaceutical companies are putting out misinformation and targeting the elderly. I bet Greg has not read the bill that Obama wants to pass. If he had, he might have caught many line items that were not satisfying to the people and would realize this bill needs to change.

Here are a few lines out of the 1,300 pages: Page 50, Section 152: Health care will be provided to all "non-U.S. citizens." Page 59, lines 21-24: Government will have direct access to your bank accounts. Page 102, lines 12 -18: Medicaid-eligible individuals will automatically be enrolled in Medicaid. Page 239, lines 14 -24: Government will reduce physician services for Medicaid.

I do not believe it is the insurance or pharmaceutical companies targeting the elderly; I believe it is the Obama health care bill ... and not in a positive manner.

Yes, this country could stand to reform the current health care system by starting with tort reform, excluding preconditions, vouchers to uninsured, etc. But there is no need for the government to take over our decisions.
