Ban cell phones while driving
Today, my husband and his best friend went for a ride on their motorcycles. It was a perfect summer day for a ride. While riding through Skokie, a car driver nearly caused a tragedy - chatting on a cell phone. The driver began to turn right on red and came within 5 feet of our friend.
If he wasn't an experienced rider, this could've caused a panicked reaction - a tragedy. The driver realized the mistake halfway into the intersection.
Motorcyclists get minimal respect on the road as is; the incident today supports that.
Cellphones must be banned while driving; my friend and I had our husbands, two best friends, come home today.
