Aurora's Hollywood Casino briefly evacuated; no injuries
Hollywood Casino in downtown Aurora was evacuated for about an hour Saturday after an employee turned in a suspicious device that had been attached to his car.
The Kane County bomb squad was summoned about 11:50 a.m. to One West New York Street and determined the device was not incendiary and did not pose a threat.
There were no injuries, but New York Street between Route 25 and River Street was closed for roughly an hour while authorities investigated.
Police said a casino employee apparently found the device attached to his personal vehicle after finishing work Friday night. He apparently went home with the device and then returned to the casino Saturday morning and turned it in to security personnel.
Police are still investigating.
