Hospice offers group for men who experienced loss

Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice, 200 Whitfield Drive in Geneva, offers these programs in August.

MALES: Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice offers "MALES" (Men After a Loss Expressing themselves Safely), a program for men who experienced the loss of loved one. MALES provides an opportunity for men to freely express their thoughts and feelings with other men. Coffee and doughnuts are provided. The program meets 9 a.m. Aug. 8 and the second Saturday of each month at the same time. The program is free, but registration is requested by calling (630) 232-2233, or e-mailing to info@fvvh.org.

Next Step: Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice offers "Next Step," monthly drop-in support group allowing those who have lost a spouse or significant other to discuss grief issues in a welcoming and nurturing environment. Participants will develop skills that will assist them in adapting to the life changes they are experiencing. This is the "next step" after participating in a previous grief support group. See www.fvvh.org for 2009 topics. The group will meet Aug. 13 and the second Thursday of each month. Free, but registration is required at (630) 232-2233, info@fvvh.org.

Footprints: Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice offers "Footprints," a program supporting parents and adult family members who are coping with a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth or newborn death. The group meets from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 26-Sept. 30. Program is free but registration is required by calling (630) 232-2233, or e-mailing to info@fvvh.org.
