Punishing businesses isn't productive

I disagree with Carol Kenzel's comments about the red light camera at Biesterfield and Rohlwing roads in Elk Grove Village. No driver who comes to a complete stop at the white line in front of the stop sign will be ticketed unless he fails to yield the right of way to the traffic that has the green light.

There's nothing unusual about "pulling forward to check for any traffic and safely make a right turn on red." In fact, this is what the law requires all drivers to do!

Why did she decide to punish Elk Grove businesses by shopping elsewhere because she has a beef with Mayor Johnson? This is an immature and irrational response.

A far better choice would be to write the mayor a letter explaining her position. This would be a far more productive action on her part.
