Auditions set for 'Emperor's New Clothes'

Steel Beam Theatre, 111 W. Main St. in downtown St. Charles, has announced auditions for young actors ages 9 to 16 for a play version of "The Emperor's New Clothes."

The auditions will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 9. Director Daina Giesler returns to Steel Beam Theatre to direct this play which runs runs Feb. 27 to March 27. Rehearsals will Saturday mornings starting Jan. 16.

No preparation is needed to audition; it will be first-come, first-served. Arrive any time between 9 a.m. and noon at The Rehearsal Space, 125 N. 11th Ave., St. Charles.

This is a tuition-based program with scholarships available to families in need. A small cast of 20 to 22 will be selected.
