Naperville resident honored:

Naperville resident David Stuart recently was named an "Outstanding Volunteer" in Northwestern Mutual Foundation's national Community Service Award program. Stuart is a financial representative for the company and volunteers his time at Children's Memorial Hospital. Northwestern Mutual will donate $10,000 to the hospital on his behalf.

Naperville testing LED lights:

Naperville will be testing light-emitting diode streetlights along the south side of Diehl Road between Country Club Boulevard and Fairway Drive from now until January 2010. During this time residents are encouraged to submit their feedback to the city regarding the performance of the streetlights that the city hopes will be more economical as well as energy efficient. Naperville cuts records hours:

Due to budget constraints, Naperville Police Department's records section will have reduced hours of operation. Effective July 20, the records section will be open from 6 a.m. to midnight Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and be closed Sundays. The department has placed a kiosk in the front lobby of the police department, 1350 Aurora Ave., allowing residents to go online at any time and electronically complete a Freedom of Information Act request as well as access an online program to pay parking tickets.
