St. Charles man gets prison for child porn

A St. Charles man who admitted to keeping child pornography on his computer was sentenced Friday to 30 months in prison.

Kristofer R. McMullen, 30, of the 1800 block of Walnut Street, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography in exchange for the sentence. The negotiated plea was accepted by Kane County Associate Judge Allen M. Anderson.

Police seized two computers from McMullen's home Dec. 17, 2007, and uncovered multiple videos of children engaged in sex acts, according to the Kane County state's attorney's office.

McMullen, who must register as a sex offender, was credited for 578 days - about 15 months - served in the county jail since his arrest.

The case was jointly prosecuted by the Kane County state's attorney's office and the Illinois attorney general's office.
