Sun City clubs

VISA: On Monday, July 20, Seonagh McCauley of Heritage Woods presents information about their new residential community in Huntley. McCauley, director of sales and marketing for Heritage Woods, is the featured speaker at the VISA meeting at 10 a.m. at the Prairie Lodge's Drendel Ballroom Breakout Room. The theme of this meeting is "Assisted Living and Maintaining Independence."

The Visually Impaired Support and Assistance Group of Sun City Huntley will learn about this brand new assisted living facility option close to our community. They will share what will assist those with low vision to live more independently. A resource list of low vision help is available at meetings

All residents and their friends are welcome to attend. To RSVP, call Nancy Turngren at the Centegra Wellness Center at (847) 515-2078. Transportation is offered by Sun City Lions, if needed.

Attendees at the Visually Impaired Support and Assistance Group at Sun City Huntley have macular degeneration, diabetes, glaucoma, and other low-vision issues. Some attend for information for their relatives or neighbors. VISA is co-sponsored by the Sun City Lions Club and the Centegra Wellness Center.

Polish American Club: On Monday, July 20, members will enjoy a Pizza Party after the business meeting at the Meadow View Lodge. Reservations for the November trip to White Eagle, with music by the Ampolaires, will be taken with a $10 deposit. For details, call Diane Faubl at (847) 515-7418.

Neighborhood 11: Neighborhood 11 is having their quarterly neighborhood meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3 at Meadowview Lodge. This is an important meeting for the neighborhood as they will be conducting an election for one committee member. Bring your Sun City ID badge to vote; one vote is allowed per household. They will also have a representative from Sun Pac to discuss property assessments, "Model Report", and how to appeal. They are asking residents from Stratford Lane, Hampton Court, and Kensington to bring desserts; coffee and tea will be provided.

Cribbage: On Wednesday, July 15, David Petty took first place with a score of 483 points. Second place was won by Wally Bartels with a score of 480. High individual hands were posted by Jim Jemilo (2), Susan Sennot, Jim Pfotenhauer, Paul Brow, Petty 24, Dave Carey, Bill Macomber, Carol Charpentier, Tom Fleming 20. There were 3 skunks.

On Wednesday, July 8, there was a tie for first place between Dave Carey and Tom Fleming, both with perfect scores of 484 points. High individual hands were posted by Susan Sennot 24,21, Paul Brow 24, Bill Macomber 23, Jim Jemilo, Don Baden, Fleming 20. There were six skunks. Election of officers for the new term was held with president Carol Charpentier, Vice President Jim Jemilo, and secretary-treasurer Harry Anderle being elected.
