Launch Day at Barrington's Citizens Park
Citizens Park in Barrington was Cape Canaveral last Friday, where more than 20 children in a summer science program launched their handmade rockets.
All week, children at the Champions Science Adventures summer camps have experimented and investigated principles of space and rocketry, while building their own working rockets and motorized Mars rovers.
On launch day, campers put their rocket knowledge to the test and launched their rockets, which exceeded speeds of 50 mph and climbed to 200 feet.
