BG a wonderful place to live, pray

My beautiful mother, Caroline Lill Rosenberg, died this past March, leaving a huge void in the lives of all who knew and loved her.

In the Jewish religion, children whose parent(s) have died have an obligation to say a beautiful prayer of "thankfulness" for 11 months after the death of that parent. The general orthodox/traditional consensus is that this prayer helps to raise the soul of the deceased to higher levels of peace and spirituality in the world after.

However, there is a slight "catch." To be able to say this prayer a "full" congregation must participate in this prayer. According to the orthodox/traditional belief this congregation is not considered "full" unless there are at least a total of 10 men present. These 10 men establish that needed Minyan.

In normal circumstances it might not be that difficult getting 10 men to show up at the same time each day. But given our increasingly busy schedules, this is easier said than done. Additionally, this service begins around 6:15 in the morning so one is presumably up before 6 a.m. to arrive on time.

For the past 4-5 months we have had this Minyan almost every morning. I would like to shout out a public thank you ("Yashakoach/Todah Rabah") to all of these men.

Based on this outstanding track record I invite anyone who either needs to say this meaningful prayer or anyone who would like to help support this Minyan join us any weekday morning at Congregation B'nai Shalom of Buffalo Grove on Aptakisic just west of Buffalo Grove Road.

Buffalo Grove continues to be a wonderful area to work, play and PRAY.
