Naperville Carillon opens for tours, announces recitals

Beginning Saturday, April 29, Naperville residents and visitors once again may enjoy educational tours of the Millennium Carillon that include a stop at the Carillon instrument, a peek at the largest bell, Big Joe, and an opportunity to experience the beautiful vista from the top of the Tower.

City Carillonneur Tim Sleep will open the Carillon's spring/summer season with a noon recital on Saturday, April 29 and Carillonneur Jim Brown will play at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 30.

The Millennium Carillon in Moser Tower and the Visitor Center hours are from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. on Saturdays and from 12:00 noon-6:00 p.m. on Sundays, April 29 through October 29. Beginning May 26, Friday hours (10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.) will be included through August 11. Visitor Center admission is free of charge. Carillon tours are $3 for ages 5 and older; children 4 years and under are free. Visitors under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. The Millennium Carillon and Visitor Center are located along the Riverwalk at the base of Rotary Hill at 443 Aurora Ave.

The Tuesday evening summer recital series at the Carillon begins on June 6 at 7:00 p.m. The 2017 performers include carillonneurs from Naperville, Chicago, from across the country and from Canada and the Netherlands. The recitals are free and there is plenty of lawn seating on Rotary Hill. Additionally, the patio will be open at the Riverwalk Café, where guests can enjoy dinner, snacks and beverages while listening to the music. The 2017 list of performers is as follows:

In addition to the Tuesday evening recitals, the Carillon features Pops Concerts at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday evenings during the summer. The Saturday evening concert schedule is as follows:
