Entries for state fair parade floats being taken

Springfield -- The deadline to participate in the Illinois State fair Twilight Parade in Springfield is approaching.

Fairgoers have until July 24 to enter a float in the parade. The parade will be held the evening of Aug. 13 -- called Preview Day because it is the day before the parade opens.

To apply,they must fill out an entry form, and include a drawing or photograph of their entry.

All the entries must incorporate the theme of this year's fair: "An All-American Fair."
