Sugar Grove Historical Society to hold annual picnic
The Sugar Grove Historical Society will hold its annual picnic at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 19 under the catalpa tree next to the Bliss House, 259 Main St. in Sugar Grove.
The theme is an 1850s potluck. Clif Frantz will make a main dish over the camp fire and will have a display of 1850s equipment. Try to make your dish to pass with ingredients that would have been here in 1850.
Bring your family, hopefully an 1850s dish to pass, tableware, and chairs. Visit the Bliss House museum from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays. For details, call (630) 466-9726 or visit www.sugargrovehistory.org. The Sugar Grove Historical Society collects and preserves items of historic value relating to Sugar Grove Township since its 1834 settlement. They have civil and probate records for the area from 1839 to 1955.
