Museum promo for kids
Children who participate in the "Passport to Adventure" program will find plenty of opportunities for excitement and journeys through history at Preservation Partners of the Fox Valley's Fabyan Villa Museum, Japanese Garden, Durant House Museum and Beith House Museum. Until Labor Day, children 4 to 12 with Passports in hand can explore these museums and others in Kane and DuPage counties. If they collect seven stamps, they will receive a prize. Pin drop for Spacenet
Registration has started for the Batavia Pin Drop contest, which takes place at 8 p.m. July 11 at Windmill City Festival. First place is a plasma-screen TV, second is a Blu-ray Disc player, and third place is a GPS device. Tickets are $10 apiece, or three for $25. Buy them at the Batavia Civic Center, 327 W. Wilson St., or the Eastside Community Center, 14 N. Van Buren St. A portion of the proceeds will be spent on replacing the Spacenet playground equipment at Engstrom Family Park. Call (630) 879-5235.
French Market resumes
The weekly French Market in the Metra station parking lot off Fourth Street and Crescent Place in Geneva runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays and features produce, flowers, baked goods, jewelry, accessories and more.
Donate garage sale items
Rover Rescue is looking for donations for its annual garage sale benefiting homeless dogs. The garage sale will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 31 and Aug. 1 at 326 Sharon Lane, North Aurora. Items needed for the sale include household goods, tools, sports equipment, kitchen utensils, glassware, toys, baby furniture, baskets, holiday decorations, small appliances, paperbacks and clothing.
