Game saver I: Like he has done over the years, first baseman Derrek Lee again put the "D" in D-Lee, making a great backhanded scoop on a low throw from Aramis Ramirez to get the Cubs out of a bases-loaded jam in the eighth inning.
Game saver II: Kevin Gregg's five-out save - his 18th save of the season - certainly wasn't a thing of beauty, but it got the job done. The night ended with a "W."
Wells Far Go: Randy Wells came into Saturday's game with a 2.04 ERA in 6 road starts this season. A poor start Saturday boosted those numbers a bit, but the rookie held on through 5 innings to get the win and improve to 5-4.
Glove department: A couple of heads-up defensive plays kept the Cubs close early. First, Ryan Theriot caught Adam Dunn straying off third in the third inning, and then catcher Koyie Hill picked Nick Johnson off first to end the fourth.
