Authorities probe Granite City killing of woman
GRANITE CITY -- Authorities from several jurisdictions are helping to investigate the killing of a woman found dead in her southwestern Illinois apartment.
The body of 54-year-old Catherine Fowler was discovered Monday in her Granite City unit.
The cause of her death hasn't been released.
But Granite City Police Chief Rich Miller says foul play is obvious, although there were no immediate signs of forced entry into Fowler's apartment.
Miller says the landlord kept a video surveillance system and that police are reviewing tapes.
An autopsy is planned.
