Oak Brook man charged with shooting at Chicago cop

A 34-year-old Oak Brook man has been charged with attempted murder after authorities said he fired on Chicago police officers during a foot chase about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday on Chicago's west side.

Police, who were not hurt, fired back at Brandon Myers, of the 17400 block of West Butterfield Road, hitting him in the leg.

Myers, who was taken to the hospital, also was charged with aggravated assault by discharging a firearm.

Another man who tried to flee police on foot in the same incident, 37-year-old Riley Fleming of the 1600 block of North Nagle Street in Chicago, was charged with armed robbery stemming from an earlier holdup the men are accused of committing.

A third suspect was able to evade police in a car.
