Gurnee Park District Farmer's Market: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays through Oct. 16, Esper Petersen Park, at Grand Avenue and Kilbourne Road, Gurnee. Mundelein Community Days: Through Sunday, July 5, Seymour Avenue and Courtland Street, Mundelein. Carnival, games, music, arts and crafts, fireworks on July 4, parade on July 5 and more. Jaycees Hometown Fest: Noon-6 p.m. Saturday July 4; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday July 5, Hometown Fest at Community Park, on Palatine Road and Northwest Highway, Palatine. A limited number of booths are still available. Exhibitors will be assigned a 12-foot by 12-foot space on a first-come, first-serve basis. An arts and crafts booth will cost $60 for both days. A business expo booth will cost $150 for both days. A charity expo booth will be free to charitable organizations. Applications for all booths are available at palatinejaycees.org/fourthofjuly/.

July 8

Farmers market: 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Every Wednesday through Oct. 14, Our Lady of the Brook Catholic Community, 3700 Dundee, Northbrook. A weekly farmers market will feature dozens of vendors, selling fresh produce, flowers, organic foods, artisan cheeses, baked goods and more. Samples will be available. Emmaus House Rummage Sale and Boutique: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday and Saturday, July 10-11, St. Francis deSales Church, Route 22 and Buesching Road, Lake Zurich. $3 bag sale begins at 10 a.m. Saturday. Sale benefits Emmaus House, an organization that provides assistance to area families in crisis in an effort to prevent homelessness. Flea market: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 11, United Protestant Church of Grayslake, 54 S. Whitney St., Grayslake. Community members are invited to browse the outdoor sale for bargains on everything from kids' toys to furniture to kitchen items.
