Chicago park gets new residents
A popular Chicago park is getting more crowded, but not with people.
Lincoln Park is the new home of 98 purple martin nestlings.
The birds that are part of the swallow family were born in recent days at three purple martin houses in the North Side park.
The Chicago Park District runs a purple martin conservation program that includes special nesting boxes the birds can use.
Park district officials say the new birds range in age from two to 10 days old.
