2 charged in St. Charles burglary

A Kane County judge set bond Monday at $25,000 for a pair of St. Charles men charged in a weekend vehicle burglary.

Christopher B. Dissette and Kyle H. Kenworthy, both 20, were arrested early Sunday after a man on the 1500 block of Banbury Street in St. Charles looked out his window and saw them rifling through a vehicle, police said.

St. Charles police spokesman Paul McCurtain said the resident confronted the men shortly before 5 a.m. and held Dissette until police arrived.

"Through the investigation, a second person was identified," McCurtain said.

Police recovered $140 believed to have been stolen from the vehicle, as well as a bottle of cologne and a pair of Gucci sunglasses. A third suspect has not been identified.

Dissette, of the 3000 block of King James Avenue, and Kenworthy, of the 1700 block of Jeanette Avenue, are charged with burglary to a motor vehicle, a Class 2 felony with a standard sentencing range of three to seven years in prison or probation.

The men were being held in the county jail Monday, and have a July 22 court date before Judge James C. Hallock.
