Scouting the Fire: After a three-week break for SuperLiga and U.S. Open Cup compeition, the Fire (5-3-6, 21 points) returns to MLS play. The team will be without defensive midfielder Logan Pause (United States) and left back Gonzalo Segares (Costa Rica), who will be playing in the Gold Cup the next few weeks. The Fire hasn't won in Colorado since 1999.
Scouting the Colorado Rapids: The Rapids (5-3-6, 21 points) always draw and play well for their July 4 games. They are 11-1-1 all-time on Independence Day. Conor Casey returns from national-team duty, but midfielder Colin Clark (United States) and forward Omar Cummings (Jamaica) are gone for the Gold Cup.
