Potkonjak paces Antioch past Wheaton St. Francis

Andi Potkonjak tied her season-high point total and Antioch's girls basketball team broke up open a close game in the third quarter, as the Sequoits defeated Wheaton St. Francis 70-56 in the Lisle Holiday Cage Classic on Tuesday.

Potkonjak scored 26 points, sinking 11 shots from the floor, and led four Sequoit scorers in double figures. The junior guard also had 5 steals.

Antioch (5-7, 2-1) also received 12 points apiece from Allie Anttila and Lauren Grant and 10 from Lauren Tiffany. Tiffany grabbed 13 rebounds, as well, while Anttila hustled for seven. The Sequoits outrebounded St. Francis 43-19. Grant and Tiffany sank 3-pointers.

Leading by three points in the third quarter, Antioch went on a 19-2 run to open a 20-point advantage and led 57-43 heading into the fourth.

Antioch plays at 5 p.m. today against either Coal City or Walther Lutheran.
