Do you wish it came in a smaller size?
Bigger is traditionally better here in America, but the folks at Cambium Furniture and Kitchens know that some of us live in smaller spaces, be they older homes or condominiums.
The Chicago firm launches a line of furniture called Cambium Condo.
Buyers can choose sofas with two or three seats as well as chairs with and without arms and sectional pieces. If there are arms, they can be very narrow or ample.
The prices vary according to the fabric, but everything is 25 percent off until the end of the year.
This three-seat Madison sofa starts at under $2,000, and costs $3,238 as shown.
Cambium Furniture and Kitchens is at 113 W. Hubbard St., Chicago (312) 832-9920 or visit www.cambiumhome.com.
Reduce stress and honor loved ones
You may have noticed you can use a little stress reduction these days.
One group living with more stress than those of us whose main problem seems to be the economy is caregivers for people with Alzheimer's disease.
And gardening is one activity we know helps many of us cope with stress.
With these facts in mind, Better Homes & Gardens and White Flower Farm have created the Alzheimer Awareness Perennial Garden of white and purple flowers. That's because purple is the official color of the Alzheimer's Association.
Designed for sunny spots, the 10 plants are three salvia, two echinacea, phlox, sedum and a geranium called Rozanne, shown here.
The cost is $100 plus shipping. The Alzheimer Awareness Perennial Garden is available at alz.org, and the association will receive 10 percent of the proceeds.
White Flower Farm is at whiteflowerfarm.com, while the magazine's online site is bhg.com.
Improve your home with easy tricks
If your dining room is not really ready for holiday entertaining, Target suggests a new tablecloth and napkins from Fieldcrest.
While red would be perfect for Christmas, the set is available in several colors.
The tablecloth is $20 to $30, and four napkins cost $15.
