Smokers should have choice too

A letter writer from Palatine wrote that "the freedom to smoke ends where the public'sfreedom to protect its health begins."

I suggest that he frequent places that are 100 percent smoke free. That is not hard to do these days.

That way, those who choose to smoke may do so, and those who want to avoid places like this may do so. It's called freedom of choice, but only works for people who do not feel it is their duty to tell others how to live. The attitude "I don't do it so nobody else should" is prevalent these days.

As has been said before, "when fascism comes to America, it will be draped in a red, white and blue flag."
