Take Lauzen over Oberweis' low road
I received a postcard from Jim Oberweis' campaign that makes my choice on Feb. 5 much easier. It contains an attack on Chris Lauzen's personal integrity by implying that he is in the midst of scandal.
It appears Oberweis' campaign advisers have stolen a page from the Karl Rove book of dirty political tricks. There is no scandal and there is no cover up. This is a prime example of a low integrity campaign twisting the truth into a negative attack. Shame on Oberweis.
Lauzen has demonstrated over the past 15-plus years that he possesses high personal integrity, has worked hard for his constituents and has gained the necessary experience to be an effective legislator in Washington.
Oberweis may be a fine man, but he has allowed dirty political tactics to become the focal point of his campaign. If we want change in Washington we must elect people of high integrity who have proven that they are willing and able to transform our government into something we can be proud of again. I have no doubt Lauzen would work to do just that.
