Geneva

• Genevieve K. Grimes, 32, of the 3N500 block of Ponderosa Drive, St. Charles, was charged with felony aggravated battery to first aid personnel at 11:21 p.m. Dec. 12, according to a police report. Grimes was being treated at Delnor Hospital's emergency room for intoxication. When she left a treatment room to make a telephone call, an emergency room nurse directed her to go back to her room and told Grimes she would help her make the call. Grimes "became belligerent" and punched the nurse in the abdomen. She was released from jail Dec. 15, but must begin wearing an alcohol-monitoring device Dec. 30 while awaiting trial, Kane County court records show.

Batavia

• A tire was slashed in the 600 block of Sylvan Place, it was reported at 11:04 a.m. Sunday, police said.

• A locking mechanism was removed from a piece of Bobcat construction equipment, it was reported at 6:17 a.m. Saturday. The equipment was parked in a lot in the 800 block of North Randall Road.

• A 3-year-old boy was found unattended in a vehicle in a shopping center parking lot in the 200 block of North Randall Road at 10:58 a.m. Friday, police said. Police found his mother, advised her she was not allowed to leave him unattended, and reported her to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.

• Six video games depicting World War II, a Comcast computer modem and $10 were stolen out of an apartment in the 1100 block of Lorlyn Circle, it was reported at 9:06 p.m. Friday, police said.

• Someone smashed a window and stole a stereo out of a car parked in a lot in the 600 block of Kingsland Drive, it was reported at 12:21 a.m. Saturday, police said.

Kane County

• A mailbox valued at $100 and a guardrail were reported damaged Sunday in an apparent hit-and-run accident on the 5N200 block of Route 25 in unincorporated St. Charles, according to police.

• A mailbox valued at $125 was reported damaged Friday in an apparent hit-and-run accident on the 41W800 block of Northway Drive in unincorporated Elburn, according to police.
