Senger needs to learn compromise
In a June 21 Fence Post letter, state Rep. Darlene Senger writes that she has returned from Springfield having been "picked on," with "bullies... squashing some of my most important bills."
She was elected to get things done for our community, not to stomp around and blame every failing on her colleagues. Perhaps her bills were flawed; perhaps compromising with others might have resulted in better legislation. Instead, she launches partisan attacks against those with whom she needs to work in order to get anything done.
At the same time, she has asked Governor Quinn for a $1.94 million "bailout" for the DuPage Children's Museum. While publicly against bailouts of failed companies at the federal level, somehow this one is OK.
From what I see, Ms. Senger has learned little. Her inability to compromise, along with her attacking the same people from whom she's asking favors, doesn't look favorably for the 96th District soon having a viable voice in Springfield.
