Sotomayor not ready for Supreme Court
The recent decision by the Supreme Court has brought crystal clarity to the nomination of Judge Sotomayor as one of its justices. In the past she has been accused of being a racist, of being predisposed to certain opinions and of legislating from the bench in her past appellate court rulings. Some of these things may have been true. Certainly her comments have done little to help her nomination.
Justice Roberts said it best during his confirmation hearings, using baseball as his metaphor: "A justice is like an umpire in baseball. The rules of the game are laid out very clearly and yes there are close calls but ultimately the player is safe or out." They are not safe or out because of their race. Decisions must be made colorless. Judge Sotomayor has had six of her decisions appealed to the Supreme Court. All six have now been overturned as incorrect decisions. In baseball this is a batting average of .000.
This all comes down to one thing, she isn't good enough to be on the Supreme Court, and needs to be sent back to the minor leagues.
