Spending goes to the wrong things

Where Our Priorities?

Where are our priorities when our Congressmen add pork projects to funds for our troops fighting in the War on Terror.

Yes, this is not the Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, etc. War, it is a War against Terrorists.

Our troops are fighting to keep America safe and free. If we just used the funds for pork projects and added to what our troops need, maybe we could get them home sooner with a Victory over the people wanting to kill us. Everyone wants the troops home as soon as possible. One life lost is one too many.

But in the World we live in we have to have a strong defense or we will wind up a Third World Country with dictators. I feel we owe it to our volunteer troops to give them the best weapons, vehicles, protection, etc. we possibly can so they can keep as many alive as they can.

We are talking about people who will sacrifice their own children in order to kill the infidels. And we are the infidels. As far as our state government is concerned, they are talking about cutting services to the people who need them the most.

They are not talking about not remodeling their offices or making any personal sacrifices. No they are talking about raising taxes. Does it make sense to raise taxes when so many people in Illinois are out of work?

Does it make sense to let prisoners out of jail before they serve their time, because the want to cut the amount of employees needed to keep them in prison for their crimes? Does it make sense to cut services to the elderly, mentally and physically challenged Illinois residents? I always was taught government is of the people, by the people and for the people.

What happened?
