Here's a breakdown of the 5-player deal Thursday between the Cubs and the always-happy-to-talk trade Pittsburgh Pirates:

Newest Cubs

• John Grabow, 30, left-handed relief pitcher

Quick facts: 6-2, 205 pounder is a free agent after this season.

Key stats: 3.42 ERA in 45 relief appearances this season, but has not allowed a run in 22 of last 25 outings. Righthanders hitting .234 against him, and .275 mark by lefthanders.

• Tom Gorzelanny, 27, left-hand starting pitcher

Quick facts: 6-2, 202 pounds, a native of Evergreen Park. Headed to Triple-A Iowa, but was a 14-game winner for Pirates in 2007 and could see action with Cubs this season.

Key stats: Was 4-3 with a 2.48 ERA in 15 starts at Indianapolis. Has a 0.96 ERA in his last six Triple-A starts. Held opponents to a .228 batting average, including a .195 mark by left-handed hitters.

• Kevin Hart, 26, right-handed starting pitcher

Key stats: Finished 3-1 with a 2.60 ERA in eight appearances (four starts) with the Cubs this season, including Thursday's victory.

• Jose Ascanio, 24, right-handed pitcher

Key stats: Was 0-1 with a 3.52 ERA in 14 relief appearances for Chicago this season.

• Josh Harrison, 22, Class-A infielder

Key stats: Hit .286 (20-for-70) with 1 homer and 9 RBI in 18 games with Daytona. Began the year with Single-A Peoria, where he batted .337 (102-for-303) with 4 homers and 33 RBI in 79 games.
