St. Charles man found dead in his driveway

Police say no foul play is suspected in the death of an 86-year-old St. Charles man whose body was found in his driveway early Saturday.

Kane County sheriff's deputies responded to the 38W000 block of Silver Glen Road in St. Charles Township about 2:20 a.m. after a next-door neighbor complained about a radio that had been left on and requested a well-being check, according to a police report.

Authorities arrived to find the body of Andrew J. Mockus in a driveway between his house and garage. Police said Mockus had a small amount of blood near his the left ear and was lying next to a tractor that was in gear and had crashed into the garage.

Lt. Pat Gengler said officials believe the man died of a medical condition, though no autopsy was performed. Mockus was pronounced dead at Delnor Hospital in Geneva at 2:44 a.m. Saturday.

"He was probably there 10 to 12 hours," Gengler said. "We do not suspect any foul play."
