Requiring ID to vote is a good idea
I think it is time for Daily Herald writer Cynthia Tucker to enter the real world.
She recently wrote a column railing against the federal government's plan to require showing a photo ID when one goes to the polls to vote. What is wrong with that?
Tucker says that this is unfair to the elderly and poor because a lot of them don't drive cars and do not have photo IDs.
Come on Cynthia! Anyone can go to any driver's license facility and get an ID for around nine bucks, whether you drive or not. Also, don't the elderly have checking accounts? You have to have a photo ID to cash a check!
Voting is the last bastion for people like me to have a say in a government that doesn't care about the average American anymore. There is nothing wrong with proving that you are the person listed on the voting paperwork when you go to vote. It's just like federal wiretapping -- I could care less if the feds listen to my phone. They would probably be bored to death. It's only people who have less than desirable intentions who are afraid to identify themselves.
This column only further proves that liberals have no limit to absorb idiocy and waylay common sense.
