18th century violin stolen in Chicago is located
Chicago police say a stolen 18th century violin worth $200,000 about has been found in good condition near the city's downtown.
Police say the violin's owner got an anonymous call directing her to the location in the city's south Loop.
Chicago police spokesman Robert Perez says officers are investigating how the violin ended up there.
No arrests had been made on Monday.
The burglary occured last week from a home on the city's North Side. Police say someone apparently found a key in a planter in the yard and unlocked the door.
On a label on the violin are the words "Januarius Gagliano, Naple, 1763." Gennaro Gagliano, who was also known as Januarius, was a famed Italian violin maker.
