Move away from Electoral College

So you want to be elected to political office.

Listening to individuals who want to be elected to various political offices at best is like a soap opera.

Why do people want to be elected to office in the first place? Is it their ego, pride, or do they just want their name up in lights? A noted social scientist said it is a combination of all, mainly because for many of them, they have been failures in previous positions in life and have not been successful in any other endeavor they have attempted.

Running for office inflates their ego and makes them feel important - as if they are accomplishing something.

Just listening to politicians when they are being interviewed by the media, sounds like the Promised Land. They are making promises on everything in sight, knowing full well their promises are meaningless unless the majority of both Houses goes along with their bill introduction.

There has to be a better way to select candidates. A person's right to vote is a precious gift and should only be used as a popular vote for a candidate, not a delegate for the Electoral College system.

If you, the voter, are not satisfied with our present election system, petition your representatives for a change. We really do need a change in federal

elections from the Electoral College to the straight popular vote state by state.
