Hanover Pk. hosts car show:

Hanover Park will host a car show Sunday, Aug. 16, at the Hanover Park train station parking lot at Barrington Road and Lake Street. Check-in will take place from 9 a.m. to noon and trophies will be presented at 3:30 p.m. The cost to display a vehicle is $15 in advance and $20 the day of the show. All proceeds benefit the DuCAP Hanover Park Community Resource Center Children's Fund. In the event of rain, the event will take place Sunday, Aug. 23. Church holds groundbreaking:

Lutheran Church of Atonement is inviting the public to a day of celebration on Sunday, Aug. 16. The event begins at 10:30 a.m. in front of the church, 909 W. Main St., Barrington, with opening prayers and groundbreaking. That will be followed by an outdoor worship service and at noon, a free picnic lunch with hamburgers and hot dogs. Hanover has 3-on-3 tourney:

The Hanover Park Community Resource Coalition will put on its first three-on-three basketball tournament from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at Heritage Park, 5470 Arlington Drive. Registration ends Wednesday, July 29. Participants must be at least 13 years old. Forms can be picked up at Heritage Park from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday or at the resource center, 1402 Arlington Drive. For more information, call (630) 605-5046.
