Downstate man dies in chain saw accident

COBDEN -- Authorities say a 57-year-old southern Illinois man died in a weekend accident involving a chain saw on his property.

Union County sheriff's investigators say Stephen Wills of rural Cobden died Sunday afternoon while cutting wood at his home.

Authorities say Wills possibly slipped and fell onto the chain saw, fatally injuring himself.

He was declared dead at a hospital.

Foul play is not suspected.

Arrangements are pending.
