Chicago area still struggling with TV transition
The Federal Communications Commission says it plans to have a booth at Chicago's annual Blues Fest this weekend for people who still need help with the nation's transition to digital television.
Several signs show that the Chicago area needs such help. The FCC estimates that 500 people stood in line in the city's downtown Friday to get converter boxes through a coupon swap sponsored by the Dish Network Corp.
Nielsen Co. data released earlier this week showed that 2.2 percent of Chicago families, or 76,000 homes, weren't ready for the switch. And the FCC says it got more calls for help from the Chicago area than from any other market when the nation switched from analog to digital TV broadcasts Friday.
