U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin, a Springfield Democrat, will introduce Obama, who is scheduled to hit the stage at 9 p.m.
Headline speakers include Al Gore, Howard Dean and New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson.
When the politicians aren't talking, the crowds will be entertained by will.i.am with John Legend and Agape Choir as well as Sheryl Crow.
