Dan Seals bid is 'all hat and no cattle'
"All hat and no cattle" is what they say in the South when someone is all talk without any action to back it up.
Illinois is pretty far north, but that phrase applies perfectly to Dan Seals' repeated runs for Congress.
For the past three years, which is how long Mr. Seals has been running, he's talked and complained but done little else.
He deplores the energy crisis but has not proposed a single plan to deal with it.
He bemoans the budget deficit but can't name one government program that he would cut.
He talks about good judgment but has displayed precious little of it himself.
And of course no discussion of Seals is complete without mentioning the incredible hubris he must have to claim he is qualified to represent us in Congress when his only experience in government is an internship he completed 10 years ago.
The job of congressman is too important for us to elect a man who claims he can do it and asks us to trust him.
We need to elect a man who has proven he can do the job. And Seals is not that man.
