What's new
The "brat tent" where most events take place is moving to the north train commuter lot at Spring Street in downtown Barrington.
The Fourth of July Parade theme is "In the Footsteps of Lincoln." World War II veterans will be Grand Marshals and the parade committee will be collecting donations of nonperishable food for local pantries along the parade route.
The parade committee held an essay contest on the Lincoln parade theme, with the 8-11-year-old category winner Lines School fourth grader Emma Bradford, and the 12-14-year-old category co-winners Barrington Middle School-Prairie Campus seventh graders David Nowak and Grant Walsh.
Useful tip
The best place to view the Fourth of July fireworks is from the lawns of Barrington High School at Lake-Cook and Hart roads.
