Don't split siblings up, District 204

I'm contacting you to make sure Indian Prairie Unit District 204 does the right thing and enacts a global sibling policy. It's the right thing to do.

The number of students being affected are insignificant, while the family impact is tremendous. I, along with many families in this situation, have legitimate reasons for keeping our students together including family, financial and time to name a few.

As to the number of students being affected, it doesn't matter. The human element must take precedent. Any argument regarding overcrowding is ludicrous. Neuqua Valley and Waubonsie Valley will each need to absorb 50 students or fewer, covering three grade levels.

It will be less crowded next year than this year and will continue to be even less crowded over time. Please don't use this argument, as it shows a total disregard for my children, my family and my intelligence.

Bottom line is, next year will be the final year both my kids will live in the same house. Attending different schools for this final year is a travesty - a 100 percent avoidable travesty. A travesty based on what? Please give me a reasonable reason that doesn't minimize the importance of my children at the expense of ego or pride. There's no explanation, so please let us know what we need to do to register under the sibling policy the school district will be putting into place. I look forward to getting the information needed to resolve this gross oversight.
