Demise of Chevy dealer bad for all

Please support House Resolution 2743. We outsell our nearest competitors, we rank higher in our customer satisfaction surveys and we contribute to the economy. We also generate a lot of sales tax for Kendall County.

GM is pulling our Chevrolet franchise and I will be out of a job after being employed in sales at Ron Westphal Chevrolet in Aurora for the past 24 years. I have approximately 50 co-workers in the same situation and with fewer dealers out there, I expect they will have great difficulty in finding new employment.

I have already had dozens of clients contact me in a panic. Many of them are senior citizens who do not want to drive in dense traffic to the next nearest Chevy dealership.

And, they don't want to purchase a Chevy from someone else. They are so upset that half of them have threatened to purchase a foreign vehicle or non-GM vehicle.

Ron Westphal Chevrolet supports the local schools and a variety of local charities. This will all end when our franchise is gone.
