While neither the White Sox nor the Cubs are tearing things up as they prepare to meet Tuesday night at Wrigley Field, there are some amazing facts about the series, which began all the way back on June 16, 1997. Among them:

• After 66 meetings, each team is 33-33.

• The Sox lead the Cubs in total runs scored 323-322.

• Thirteen of the 66 games have been decided in the final at-bat.

• Paul Konerko (47) and Sammy Sosa (42) have appeared in the most games for their respective teams. Konerko has 14 home runs and 37 RBI; Sosa finished with 11 homers and 39 RBI.

• Carlos Zambrano leads the Cubs with 5 victories, while White Sox starter/slugger Mark Buehrle has 4.

• Based on a minimum of 60 at-bats, Ray Durham tops the Sox with a .364 batting average in the series; the Cubs are led by Mark Grace at .350.

• The only starting pitcher to record 2 complete games is Jon Lieber.

Extra credit knowledge about all-time Cubs-Sox history:

• A total of 165 players have appeared in at least one major-league game for both the White Sox and the Cubs.

• Twenty-two trades have been consummated between the two teams, the last occurring in November 2006, when the Cubs acquired Neal Cotts in exchange for David Aardsma and Carlos Vasquez.
