Playoff announcements coming Saturday

Things to know about Pairings Saturday

1. Playoff football pairings will be announced at 8 p.m. Saturday, starting with Class 1A and finishing with Class 8A.

2. The playoff pairings show can be seen on Channel 50 out of Chicago and Channel 30 out of Plano.

3. Times and dates of first-round playoff games will be announced Monday.

4. The 256 qualifying teams will be announced at 6 p.m. Saturday at www.ihsa.org.

5. The Class 1A-4A championship games are Nov. 23 in Champaign.

6. The Class 5A-8A championship games are Nov. 24 in Champaign.

7. 155 teams have clinched playoff spots already, leaving 101 open entering the final weekend.
