Closing Guantanamo doesn't make sense

Why is President Obama pressing to close the Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba? We have more than 200 al-Qaida members, Taliban members or just declared haters of America imprisoned there in an effort to protect the American people from these potential terrorists.

It has worked well. They are secure there; not one has escaped from that facility, if any did they would still be isolated from us in the same way that Alcatraz isolated its potential escapees from California.

Transferring the prisoners at Guantanamo to a super secure prison in the United States could not improve upon that.

I am thankful for our democracy's system of checks and balances which in this case is allowing Congress to refuse to approve any money for a Guantanamo prison shutdown until President Obama tells them more details about where he plans to transfer the prisoners.
