Can new president solve our problems?
In this country, the staunch liberals are saddened by what little concern the general public has for the plight of the neediest among us.
In this country, the staunch conservatives are frustrated with the general public who seem not to agree with their political philosophy. The conservative's bias is for management and against labor. The liberal's bias is just the opposite.
Abraham Lincoln said: "Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could have never existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital and deserves much the higher consideration."
Presently, and in the past, our country has shown a warlike attitude and many believe we are the caretakers of countries in all parts of the world. We have 500,000 active duty troops in 144 countries throughout the world. We are everywhere!
Concerning Iraq: President Eisenhower said a preventive war is an impossibility. President Lincoln said allow a president to invade a nation and you allow him to make war at his pleasure. President Kennedy said there cannot be an American solution to every world problem.
Some say we should bring the troops home and let the other nations figure out their own problems. Will it be possible for the new president and Congress to find solutions to our national and international problems?
