Sothikhoun, Villa win titles for Larkin

Larkin senior Emily Sothikhoun posted career win No. 100 Saturday, defeating East Aurora's Jannaly Villa in the finals to win at the No. 1 singles title at the Upstate Eight Conference badminton meet.

At No. 2 Singles Natta Senesombath avenged an early-season loss to Lake Park's Katie Mueller to post Larkin's other champion.

At No. 3 singles Bonnie Bielarz posted her 99th career win to place third.

Sothikhoun finished 12-1 in conference play, and enters the state series with a 20-5 record. Senesombath posted an 11-2 conference record and an identical 20-5 singles record. Bielarz will partner with Betty Flores(16-3) for state. The three seniors accounted for 56 of the Royals' 85 conference points this season.
